  • By train

Battle station is a 12-minute walk. Trains run via Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks to London Charing Cross, and the other way to St Leonards and Hastings.

  • By car

East Sussex has no motorways — part of its beauty. From the M25 take the A21 to Battle, turn left at the roundabout with King Harold’s sculpture and right when you see the Abbey gatehouse.

  • By air

    Gatwick is the nearest airport.

  • Where to stay

No rooms on site: hotels, B&Bs and Airbnbs are a short walk away in Battle, some with parking — nobody needs a taxi.
